Safeguarding is at the heart of what we do

Our safeguarding policies are aligned with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and Working Together to Safeguard Children. Every tutor is carefully vetted and enhanced DBS checked - with identity and right-to-work checks, and qualification verification for every tutor engaged since February 2026 - all recorded on our Single Central Record. An enhanced DBS check is not a one-off: we obtain a new certificate for every tutor at least every three years and, for tutors registered with the DBS Update Service, carry out a status check at least annually in between.

Safeguarding training is applied proportionately to the provision delivered. Every tutor completes a safeguarding induction, signs to confirm they will follow our safeguarding policies and Tutor Code of Conduct, and must report any concern directly to our Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Tutors who work with schools

The following four requirements apply to tutors delivering school-commissioned provision only. Before working with a school, those tutors must also have read Part one of the current Keeping Children Safe in Education in full (September 2026 edition) and confirmed this in writing, hold a current Level 1 safeguarding certificate renewed at least every two years, hold a current Prevent certificate renewed at least every two years, and complete our online safety training for remote tuition, which they repeat every year. Tutors who work solely with private families are not required to hold these.

This is our standard for every school we work with. If your school, trust or local authority needs anything different or additional - a different refresh period, an extra course, your own induction or a specific check - please tell us in writing before provision starts and we will put it in place and record it. Where we are not told otherwise, provision runs under the standard set out in our Safeguarding Training & Induction Policy.

Designated Safeguarding Lead

Joe Robinson is our Designated Safeguarding Lead. If you ever have a concern about a child's wellbeing, please email him a brief written summary at joe@robinsontuition.com - this makes sure it is recorded and acted on - or message him on WhatsApp.

Robinson Tuition is based in Buckinghamshire. Concerns about any adult who works with children, including Joe himself, can go directly to the Buckinghamshire Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) on 01296 382 070 or secure-LADO@buckinghamshire.gov.uk (Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm, Friday 9am to 4:30pm).

If you are worried about a child, the NSPCC helpline is 0808 800 5000. Children and young people can call Childline free on 0800 1111. Tutors or staff who feel unable to raise a concern with us can call the NSPCC whistleblowing advice line on 0800 028 0285.
